“I don’t smoke marijuana. Pot shouldn’t be illegal. I’m voting YES for legalization”
“I don’t smoke marijuana, but some of my college roommates did at our 20th reunion. They are old enough to make up their own minds. Pot shouldn’t be illegal. I’m voting YES FOR LEGALIZATION.” Read along, we need your support!
I’m writing to announce a special project I’m working on with MassCANN (the Massachusetts Cannabis Reform Coalition), Massachusetts’s leading education and advocacy organization whose mission is to build a consensus for a more moral and rational public policy regarding all uses of the cannabis plant.
This month we are launching a collaborative messaging and awareness campaign to build support for the November Ballot Initiative, “The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol,”
The goal of this campaign is to persuade people who don’t smoke marijuana but don’t support the prohibition of cannabis in Massachusetts that voting to legalize and regulate marijuana is the right thing to do.
Over the summer, we’ll be deploying social media messages on Facebook and other platforms that uses real messages from real people with a simple but persuasive message:
“I don’t smoke marijuana, but pot shouldn’t be illegal. I’m voting YES for legalization.”
Though the pilot program uses stock photos of people who best fit the messaging we’ve developed, we are looking for real people like you who are willing to share their photographs and stories to help end cannabis prohibition in Massachusetts.
