Founder Inducted as Board Member with Cambridge Arts Assocation
As we approach our 70th year, the Cambridge Art Association begins to tell a new story, while holding true to the tenets of our founders to “foster an interest in the fine arts.” What do I mean when I say a “new story”? As the new director of this robust organization, I hope to bridge the strengths of Cambridge Art Association’s past with the possibilities of our future. I hope to strengthen and expand the community of artists we support; to support much needed access to the visual arts that is missing in our schools; and most of all, to celebrate the rich visual heritage of our home, the City of Cambridge.
While remaining focused on our core exhibitions, Cambridge Art Association will continue to expand our programmatic offerings, building on the success of our recent workshops (with artists like Kim Bernard) and CREATE IT! Nights. As an organization, we will also reach deeper into the community, partnering at times with other arts agencies to strength the creative capital of our region while extending the reach of CAA into new constituencies.
